This is a notice of intent to solicit and award a sole source contract in accordance with (IAW) FAR 6.302-1(a)(2)(iii). The Commander Fleet Readiness Centers (COMFRC) intends to solicit and award a sole source Firm Fixed price contract type for GE M2 Laser 5 Series maintenance, training and technical services with Colibirum Additive (CA) a.k.a GE Aerospace under the authority of FAR Part 12 and FAR Part 13. The Government does not possess the technical data and/or the rights necessary to competitively award a contract for this requirement. CA is the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and developer of M2 Laser 5 Series and is the sole supplier for United States customers. CA possesses the requisite knowledge and expertise required to satisfy the Government’s minimum requirements in an expeditious manner, without impacting cost and schedule. This Synopsis notice is not a request for competitive proposals and does not commit the Government to award a contract because of this announcement. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
