The Fleet Readiness Center Procurement Group Patuxent River, MD 20650 hereby gives notice of their intent to award a purchase order to CAES Systems Inc., Integrated Defense Systems Division (Cage Code: 93346) on a sole source basis in accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 13.106-1(b)(i), only one source reasonably available and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. COMFRC Mid-Atlantic Voyage Repair Team has a requirement in support of the existing Integrated Launch and Recovery Television Surveillance (ILARTS) System onboard USS Gerald R. Ford (CVN-78). Procurement of ILARTS Cable Assemblies with Camera Lens High Speed PTY Payload System needed to replace existing as they wear out. This procurement is necessary to maintain Aircraft Landing and Recovery Equipment (ALRE) readiness. The cable assemblies required are proprietary to the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), CAES Systems Inc., Integrated Defense Systems Division. Replacements from any other manufacturer would require modifications to the cable assemblies and other IRLARTS components. There are no distributors available as the manufacturer only sells directly. CAES Systems is the only source that can meet the Government's specific requirements and mission in a timely and cost effective manner. For these reasons, the government intends to procure these services on a sole source basis from CAES Systems. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES. However, all responsible sources may submit a capability statement, which, if received by the Date Offers Due in the General Information section of this notice, will be considered. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement based upon responses received as a result of this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
