The Commander Fleet Readiness Center (COMFRC) on behalf of the Fleet Readiness Center Southeast hereby gives notice of their intent to Exercise Option Year III, 12 March 2022 to 11 March 2023 on the previously awarded contract N6883619P0167 to Furnacare, Inc., 100 Corporate Drive Suites A-C, Spartanburg, SC 29303 (Cage Code: 7YFY6). The Fleet Readiness Center South East utilizes the G-M Vacuum Furnace to heat treat aircraft components for the US Navy and requires maintenance for continued upkeep of the vacuum furnace in order to meet aircraft component production demands and compliance with applicable Aerospace Material Specifications (AMS 2750E and AMS 2769B). The contractor shall provide all personnel, supervision, equipment, supplies, facilities, transportation, tools, materials, and other items necessary to perform one-time preventive maintenance (PM) and PM training on the G-M Vacuum Furnace (1-2733 GM Model HVF 101XB 2BAR). Per the FAR 6.302-1(a)(2)(iii)(A), For DOD, NASA, and the Coast Guard, Services may be deemed to be available only from the original source in the case of follow on contracts for the continued provision of highly specialized services when It is likely that award to any other source would result in- (A) Substantial duplication of cost to the Government that is not expected to be recovered through competition; or (B) Unacceptable delays in fulfilling the agency’s requirements (See 10.U.S.C.2304(d)(1)(B)). THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES. However, all responsible sources may submit a capability statement, which, if received within three (3) calendar days after the date of the publication of this synopsis, will be considered. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement based upon responses received as a result of this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
