Recovery Assist, Secure and Traverse (RAST) system IDIQ
The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) Lakehurst is issuing a Request for Information (RFI) to survey the marketplace for manufacturing sources for the RAST system, which guides, secures, and traverses SH-60B or MH-60R helicopters on Air Capable Ships, specifically DDG-51 FLT III Arleigh Burke class destroyers. The system must operate in all environmental conditions up to sea state 5 during flight operations and sea state 8 while the aircraft is stowed, and it must support safe landing, securement, traverse, and automatic launch. Interested vendors are asked to provide company descriptions, technology details, evidence of expertise, and other relevant information. Responses must be submitted electronically in a Microsoft Word or compatible format, limited to twenty single-sided, single-spaced pages with 12-point Times New Roman font and one-inch margins. No budget information or performance location beyond the ship class is specified, and this RFI does not constitute a solicitation or commitment to award a contract.
