This Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division Lakehurst, NJ (NAWCADLKE) intends to award a firm fixed price modification under an existing contract to procure pressure gauge set and additional pressure relief tools to support maintenance of the Carrier Crash Salvage Crane (CCSC) and Amphibious Crash and Salvage Crane (ACSC). Allied System Company (ASC) is the Original Equipment Manufacturer of the Crash Cranes. They own the technical data and are the sole designer, developer and manufacturer. The gauge set and relief tool are required to interface with the crane. ASC is the only company that has the technical data and interface dimensions required for these tasks. The government does not possess the required technical data to effectively solicit this requirement by full and open competition. No other manufacturer or procuring agent would have this data and are capable of successfully meeting the Government’s requirement. NAWCADLKE intends to award this modification under the authority of 10 U.S.C.3204(a)(1) as implemented in FAR 6.302.1. Interested firms may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, the Government will consider all responses received to this notice. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received as a result of the notice of intent will normally be considered soley for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. No solicitation will be available for this procurement.
