PURPOSE Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR), Naval Air Warfare Center, Aircraft Division, Lakehurst NJ (NAWCADLKE) is soliciting information and comments from industry on its ability to provide a Flange Ball Bearing Auxilary Power Unit (APU) Puller used Ashore and Afloat for V-22 aircraft. DEFINITION / DESCRIPTION The Flange Ball Bearing Puller should meet the requirement to install and/or disassemble the thrust ball bearing in the air inlet hoursing assembly. The Flange Ball Bearing APU Puller is used ashore and afloat, it is needed to raise the outer race of the flanged ball bearing in the air inlet housing assembly so all the bearing balls can drop into place during installation. Also, a mechanical puller is needed to pull the flanged outer race of the ball bearing from air inlet housing assembly during disassembly.
