The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR), Lakehurst, NJ has a requirement to procure, through a Firm Fixed Price contract, through a limited competition in accordance with FAR 6.302-1(c), to acquire spools of instrumentation cable required for deadload testing and catapult certification aboard CVN-79. The cable is to be Belden P/N 8723 and shall be delivered in quantities of 2 different lengths (put-ups). Requirements: ?Belden P/N 8723. (NO SUBSTITUTES ARE PERMITTED) ? (QTY 138) ? 200' put?ups on spools ? (QTY 59) ? 250' put?ups on spools ?Spools must have a 1 inch hole so that a MS3116F10?6S connector can pass through it after the wire is unrolled. ?Length of wire coming out of hole shall be approximately 1 foot such that it can easily have the connector attached. ?Open spools, not boxes. ?Spools can be plastic, metal or wood. ?Center hole through which a ¾” ? 1" pipe can pass for ease of unrolling the spool. Brand Name Only Belden 8723 instrumentation cable is the only instrumentation cable certified to use for shipboard deadload testing. This cable is used to collect critical data from a test deadload launched from the deck of the aircraft carrier. Vendors fulfilling this contract are not required to be authorized Belden distributors.
