As the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) Olympus America Inc. (CAGE 1KY21) is the sole designer, developer and manufacturer of the required Support Equipment for the Kuwait F/A-18 Super Hornet Program. As the OEM, Olympus America Inc. is the only qualified supplier of the Ultrasonic Transducer Set and its accompanying accessories. Olympus America Inc.is the only known source that is capable of providing the required Support Equipment with the same form, fit and function that is compatible with the existing configuration. Therefore, this action will be an establishment of a sole source contract action to Olympus America Inc., located at 48 Woerd Avenue, Waltham, Massachusetts 02453-3824. Olympus America Inc. is considered a large business under NAICS code 334519. NAWC-AD intends to award this order under the authority of 10 USC 2304 (C)(1), as implemented in FAR 6.302-1. Interested firms may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, the Government will consider all responses received to this notice. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received as a result of the notice of intent will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. No solicitation will be available for this procurement.
