The Naval Air Warfare Center – Aircraft Division, Lakehurst (NAWCAD LKE) intends to solicit, negotiate, and award a sole source firm-fixed-price- contract for upgrade of the Government's HAAS VS-1 CNC Vertical Milling machine, S/N 2051903, which includes installing a Mill Pendant Main Con Upgrade Kit, P/N 93-4421; and replacing a Remote Jog Handle (RJH) Touch from and RJH-E, P/N 93-1963A. to Phillips Corp., Federal Division (CAGE: 3MPQ0) of Hanover, MD. The scope of work will also include the time for a certified Phillips Corp., Federal Division technician to come to Lakehurst, NJ in order to install the new components and to ensure that the Government's HAAS VS-1 machine is working properly with the new parts.The HAAS VS-1 CNC Vertical Milling machine is proprietary to Phillips Corp. and no other vendor has the capability for the exact design and performance with the existing machine. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. However, the Government will consider all responses received within thirty days after the date of publication of this synopsis. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received as a result of the notice of intent will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. No solicitation will be available for this procurement.
