THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) ONLY. THERE IS NO SOLICITATION PACKAGE AVAILABLE. The Naval Air Warfare Center, Aircraft Division in Lakehurst, NJ (NAWCADLKE) seeks to identify potential sources for a Fiber Optical Time (and/or Frequency) Domain Reflectometer for current and future fiber optic maintenance requirements. Hereafter, the acronym FOTDR will be used to represent both time and/or frequency domain options. These measurement devices shall measure optical distance-to-fault for current and future fiber optic maintenance requirements. NAWCADLKE is seeking information from industry regarding FOTDR measurement devices. Please provide the following information about a FOTDR devices, or FOTDR technology that is either under development or that is a product supplied by your company / organization: We are requesting the following details: A general description of your FOTDR product / technology, and the projected turnaround for potential future acquisitions. Identification of critical enabling technologies of your FOTDR. Include the technology readiness level (TRL) of your FOTDR product / technology and a summary of field usage, tests and demonstration results. A description of the following three key features of your FODTR: • Accuracy • Measurement Range • Instrument Resolution 4. An overview of your FOTDR concept of operation (including the user operating manual if available). 5. The power requirements of your FOTDR, i.e. battery and/or AC. 6. The calibration requirements of your FOTDR. Discuss if there is a calibration procedure in place. 7. The environmental test methods that your FOTDR has been subjected to, the results, and the environmental thresholds that the FOTDR is approved to operate in (e.g. electromagnetic susceptibility or emissions, operating / storage temperature, humidity, altitude, and shock). 8. The fiber connector/terminus interfaces your FOTDR can directly connect to OR if adaptors would be needed for a variety of connectors/termini. 9. If applicable, provide customer testimonials with references. Provide your point(s) of contact. 10. Provide information about your company / organization including: a brief description of your company / organization, small / large business status, 8A status, hub-zone status, veteran owned status, and any past or present Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) awards related to your FOTDR. 11. Provide all product datasheet. 12. Provide any additional information we should consider in this RFI.
