Contracting Office Address: Location: Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division Lakehurst Notice Type: Synopsis NAVAIR NAWCAD Lakehurst intends to enter into a firm fixed price sole source purchase order with Bauer Inc. Bristol CT United State quantity of 2 EA Universal Wheel Build Up Stands, Part Number 8071007-P5, and a quantity of 2 EA Hose and Wheel Adapter Assemblies, Part Number BEI3840-223-P1 for the USN Program. The Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b). Bauer Inc. owns all proprietary rights to the engineering data. Bauer’s 8071 Wheel Build Up Stand and associated BEI3840-223-P1 wheel adapter has been designed, tested and approved for use on commercial and military variants of the Boeing class 737 aircraft, thus P-8 Fielding new and different models of like equipment would result in significant duplication of time, costs and efforts in design . Additionally, cost duplication would drive the need for the government to redo training, logistics support as well as government test and evaluation of other models. PMA 290 IC conducted extensive market research for the Bauer Wheel Build Up stand and wheel adapter. It was determined that there were no other vendors able to meet the form fit and function required for the P-8A (737) aircraft. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR QUOTE. All responsible sources may submit a capability statement, proposal or quotation, which shall be considered by the agency.
