The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD), Lakehurst, NJ, intends to award a Fixed Price, contract on a non-competitive basis with Metrologic Group, located in Wixom, MI, for the FARO Vantage Laser Tracker Software (P/N SLI4G-1M + SLI4G-3XP + SLI1G - 2PORHS) and Software Training. The Metrologic Group is the only training company authorized and able to hold training classes for the FARO Vantage Laser Trackers. The Metrologic Group has complete knowledge of the features and workings of the FARO Vantage Laser Trackers and full computability with all current V-22 Aircraft Directed Infrared Countermeasures (DIRCM) and jointly with H-53 DIRCM requirements/tooling already in place. The FARO Vantage Laser Tracker is a completely self-contained unit, with the laser controller being fully integrated within the laser head; this being only one major component to this system and the Metrologic Group are the experts on training for the FARO Vantage Laser Tracker. The Government intends to procure the above under the authority of 10 USC 2304(c)(1), FAR 6.302-1. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, the Government will consider all responses received within fifteen days after the date of publication of this synopsis. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received as a result of this notice of intent will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
