NAVAIR NAWCAD Lakehurst intends to enter into a sole source contract with The Boeing Company to provide maintenance and repair on the Windscreen, Single Place Canopy, the Two Place Canopy and the Vertical Tail. The Government intends to procure this equipment under the authority of 10 USC 2304(c)(1) as implemented by the Federal Acquisition Regulation Section 6.302-1. The Boeing Company is a prime integrator of the EA-18G and F/A-18 E/F aircraft, and the original designer, developer and manufacturer and the only source with the requisite knowledge, experience, technical expertise and technical data to provide the PSE for the EA-18G and F/A-18E/F requirements. At this time the Government does not possess the drawings/technical data necessary to support a competitive acquisition. A determination by the Navy not to open the requirement to competition based upon the response(s) to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Navy.
