The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division Lakehurst, NJ (NAWCADLKE) intends to negotiate on a non-competitive basis with The Timken Corporation, Lebanon, NH, for a quantity three (3) of Advanced Arresting Gear (AAG) Mod-II Water Twister (WT) Inboard Cover Spherical Thrust Bearings. NAVAIR P/N 3890AS004918-01 (Vendor P/N N-3682-A), in support of the US Navy’s Advanced Arresting Gear (AAG) program. This is a Critical Safety Item (CSI). NAICS Code: 332991. NAWCADLKE intends to procure these items under the authority of 10 USC 2304 (c)(1), as implemented in FAR 6.302-1. No solicitation package is available for this procurement. This is not a request for competitive proposals. However, responsible sources are encouraged to submit a response to this synopsis in writing that contains information that may be used by the Government to determine whether or not to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement based upon the response to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
