The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division Lakehurst, NJ intends to solicit, negotiate, and award a contract, on a non-competitive basis, with Struers, Inc., Westlake, OH for the procurement of one (1) automatic metallographic polisher to be used by NAWCAD Lakehurst Materials Engineering for metallographic sample preparation for analysis using microscopy. The polisher must be able to polish six (6) 40mm samples at once and at least three (3) 50mm samples at once; the wheel size must be 300mm and have a magnetic platen; the maximum single pressing force must be 50N; the maximum central pressing force must be 300N; the polisher must come with an integrated way to automatically clean samples between polishing steps; and a compatible recirculation tank must accompany the polisher as there is no direct access to water drainage. The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. All responsible sources may submit a quotation, which, if received by the date and time listed on this posting, shall be considered by the agency. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Responses to this notice must include the company name, point of contact, address, area code and telephone number, electronic mail (e-mail) address and company literature sufficient to determine the capability of this company to perform this effort.
