The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division Lakehurst, NJ intends to negotiate on a sole source basis for the issuance of a contract modification with Calzoni SRL to procure the following: Two (2) Lamp Assemblies (Part Number: 3995AS1800-1) Two (2) Lamp Assemblies (Part Number: 3995AS1800-2) Two (2) CPU Boards (Part Number: 3995AS2230-2) Two (2) Domes (Part Number: 3995AS1041-1) The Government intends to procure the above items under the authority of 10 USC 2304 (c) (1), Far 6.302-1. Calzoni SRL is the original designer, developer and sole manufacturer of the ASGSI System and parts to support the fleet. It was determined by NAVAIR team leads and lead engineers that since Calzoni owns and maintains the drawings, they are the only source with the knowledge, experience, and technical expertise to produce the parts and to perform the testing of parts to support efforts to reduce the intensity of the Lamp Assembly. This is not a request for competitive proposals. However, responsible sources are encouraged to submit a response to this synopsis in writing that contains information that may be used by the Government to determine whether or not to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to open this requirement to competition based upon response(s) to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government.
