THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) ONLY. THERE IS NO SOLICITATION PACKAGE AVAILABLE. The Naval Air Warfare Center, Aircraft Division, Lakehurst, NJ (NAWCADLKE) is requesting information pertaining to a portable air compressor (twin screw rotary type) unit for various compressed air uses requiring “shop air” for tools, servicing, mobile facilities, and maintenance applications. NAWCADLKE is seeking information from industry regarding a Portable Air Compressor. The Portable Air Compressor (PAC) is a mobile means to provide 160 Cubic Feet per Minute (CFM) of compressed air at 150 Pounds Per Square Inch (PSI) for various aircraft maintenance applications. The PAC contains its own fuel and lubrication systems, and is designed to operate for eight continuous hours on a single tank of fuel in temperatures ranging from -25° to 135 °F. A capacity control system can be adjusted for air pressures between 85 and 150 PSI. The following details are requested: 1) A general description of your unit. 2) A description of your approach and/or drawing and/or schematic to address the following key Operational Characteristics: OPERATIONAL CHARACTERISTICS: Operating temperature: -25 to 135 °F (sea level) and -25 to 102 °F (5,000 feet) Air pressure: 85 to 150 PSIG Air delivery: 160 cfm Fuel: JP-5, JP-8, Jet A/Jet A-1, DF-2 Fuel operating time: 8 hours (minimum) Fuel tank capacity: 28 gallons Towing speed: 20 MPH on paved road, or 10 MPH unpaved road 3) Provide information about your company / organization including: a brief description of your company / organization, small / large business status, 8A status, hub-zone status, veteran owned status, and any past or present Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) awards related to your preservation units. 4) Provide all product datasheets. 5) Provide any additional information we should consider in this RFI. The Government WILL NOT PAY for any information received in response to this RFI nor will the Government compensate any respondent with costs incurred in developing the information provided to the Government. The Government will not release any information marked with a Proprietary legend, received in response to this RFI, to any firms, agencies, or individuals outside the Government without written permission in accordance with the legend.
