Proprietary information will be safeguarded in accordance with the applicable Navy regulations. Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR), Naval Air Warfare Center - Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) is seeking potential sources for a planned procurement of flanged journal bearings for the Mark 7 MOD4 Retractable Sheave Locking Pins. These bearings are required have identical outer diameter, inner diameter, flange diameter, overall length and flange thickness to the existing bearings, Kamatics PN KNRJ32-UD-074 and KNRJ32-UD-152. The locking pins are made from QQ-N-286 (Monel K500), hardened to 24 HRC minimum, move axially and are non-lubricated. Pins move 4 inches at a speed of approx. 50 inches per second and are typically do not support a load when moving. Bearings shall be metallic and have a dry lubricant on the inner diameter that is embedded such that it is retained if the inner diameter wears up to .020 of an inch radially. The metallic material shall have at least 40ksi yield tensile strength (YTS) and not gall with or cause adverse wear on the locking pin. The Retractable Sheave is used in a crucial shipboard system supporting the recovery of aircraft. The use of incorrect or defective material would create a high probability of failure resulting in a serious loss of a vital shipboard system. THIS SOURCES SOUGHT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL. The Navy is not obligated to and will not pay for any information received from potential sources as a result of this notice. ELIGIBILITY: The PSC for this requirement is K017; the NAICS is 332812. All interested respondents must have a Data Universal Numbering System (DUNS), be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM), and submit a current copy of your Military Critical Technical Data Agreement (DD Form 2345) in order to receive the weldment drawing. SUBMITTAL INFORMATION: It is highly recommended that interested businesses submit a capabilities statement to the contracting office.
