The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division, Lakehurst, intends to issue a sole source contract to AAI/Textron Systems, 124 Industry Lane, Hunt Valley, MD 21030 (CAGE: 97384) for the upgrade and ancillary repair of the Advanced Boresight Equipment (ABE) Model 310A, P/N: 40262-44000-40, NSN: 4920-01-540-4173. AAI/Textron owns all proprietary rights to the engineering data and detailed product drawings and is the only known source that can perform upgrade and ancillary repair. NAVAIR intends to procure this under the authority of 10 USC 2304 (C) (1), as implemented in FAR 6.302-1. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. However, all responses received within fifteen days after the date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received as a result of the notice of intent will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
