THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION. The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) is seeking additional sources for electrical connectors in accordance with SAE AS81582C Connectors, Electrical, Bayonet Coupling, Environment Resisting, Umbilical and the associated specification sheets for listing on Qualified Products List (QPL AS81582). SAE AS81582 may be obtained by going to the SAE website https://www.sae.org. This specification covers environment-resisting, quick-disconnect, EMI/RFI shielded and non-shielded umbilical, electric connectors and adapter assemblies with removable crimp or non-removable solder-type contacts and accessories. Connectors are rated for operation from -55 °C (-67 °F) to 200 °C (392 °F). Adapter assemblies are rated for operation from -55 °C (-67 °F) to 125 °C (257 °F). The upper temperature is the maximum internal hot spot temperature resulting from any combination of electrical load and ambient temperature. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION. With respect to products requiring qualification, awards will be made only for products that are, at the time of award of contract, qualified for inclusion in QPL-AS81582 whether or not such products have actually been so listed by that date. Contractors should be aware of requirements specified in SAE AS81582C. Manufacturers should arrange to have the products that they propose to offer to the Federal Government tested for qualification in order that they may be eligible to be awarded contracts or orders for the products covered by SAE AS81582C. Guidance for manufacturers and their authorized distributors who wish to submit products for NAWCAD qualification is available from the Provisions Governing Qualification (SD-6).
