THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION. The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) is seeking additional sources for these power cables in accordance with SAE AS5756B Cable, Power, Electrical, Portable and the associated specification sheets, for listing on Qualified Products List QPL-AS5756. SAE AS5756 may be obtained by going to the SAE website: https://www.sae.org. This specification covers 600 Volt, heavy duty, portable, power, single and multi-conductor, electrical cable for severe flexing service (see detail specifications for voltage limitations). The AS5756 insulation system has been used in aerospace ground power applications using 115/200 V (phase to neutral) at 400 Hertz Alternating Current (AC). THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION. With respect to products requiring qualification, awards will be made only for products that are, at the time of award of contract, qualified for inclusion on QPL-AS5756 whether or not such products have actually been so listed by that date. Contractors should be aware of requirements specified in SAE AS5756B. Manufacturers should arrange to have the products that they propose to offer to the Federal Government tested for qualification in order that they may be eligible to be awarded contracts or orders for the products covered by SAE AS5756B. Guidance for manufacturers and their authorized distributors who wish to submit products for NAWCAD qualification is available from the SD-6 Provisions Governing Qualification.
