The Naval Air Warfare Center - Aircraft Division Lakehurst, NJ, under the authority of 10 USC 2304(c)(1), FAR 6.302-1, intends to award a firm-fixed-price contract, on a sole-source basis, to EDAX, Inc. Mahwah, NJ (CAGE 1DCY0) for the procurement of maintenance support for the EDAX ORBIS X-Ray Fluorescence Spectrometer (XRF). The ORBIS X-Ray Fluorescence Spectrometer (XRF) provides analytical support to the Fleet and the Fleet Readiness Center Southeast (FRCSE). EDAX Inc. is the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) of the ORBIS X-Ray Fluorescence Spectrometer (XRF). EDAX is the sole company certified to provide support, maintenance and services to ensure that instrumentation, sampling accessories and software will continue to perform according to original manufacturing specifications. An adequate purchase description or other information suitable to solicit by full and open competition has not been developed because procuring future services via another source would result in major delays in shop support of processing aircraft parts needed at the FRCSE. EDAX, Inc. is the only source that can provide the maintenance support required for the ORBIX X-Ray Fluorescence Spectrometer. THIS NOTICE IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. However, the Government will consider all responses received within fifteen days after the date of publication of this synopsis. Registration in the System for Award Management (SAM) (https://www.sam.gov) is mandatory for consideration. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based on the responses to this notice will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
