The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division, Lakehurst, intends to issue a sole source contract with a one year option for the calibration and repair of the Cockpit Mapping Robot (CMR) support equipment (P/N: B19387DA) used with Optimized TopOwl (OTO) Helmet Mounted Sight and Display (HMSD) systems. OTO HMSD systems are used in AH-1Z and UH-1Y United States Marine Corps aircraft. The anticipated award will be made to Thales Avionics, SAS, Merignac, France. The Naval Air Warfare Center intends to procure under the authority of 10 USC 2304 (C) (1), as implemented in FAR 6.302-1. Thales Avionics owns the proprietary rights to the necessary data required to perform this effort. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. However, all responses received within fifteen days after the date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received as a result of the notice of intent will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
