Q) 600-157-KC Wrench Set includes a case and wrench sizes 600-157-08 thru -24. The provided case will not meet the SOW 2.4 case requirements. Individual part numbers 600-157-08 thru -24 are also included on the tool list. which creates a duplication, these tools will be incorporated within a case that meets the SOW. If duplication was not intended, should part number 600-157-KC be removed? A) Proceed with eliminating duplicates and the extra non-spec case Q) TN-2478 is an alternate to AC4319. Both part numbers are listed under NSN 5120-01-468-5288. Source of supply for AC4319 is unknown. We request approval to provide part number TN-2478. A) The manufacturer for the parts are TIMES microwave systems. Per my records and communication with company engineers, AC4319 should actually cross with TN2964, while TN2478 should cross with AC4034. Both parts are capable of performing the exact same task, however we selected TN2964 (AC4319D) as it was easier on the maintainer to use. Only part number TN2964 (AC4319D) should be used. Q) Paragraph 7 notes: The case shall have a pressure equalizing valve. This valve shall not protrude beyond the enclosure. Can you further define the "enclosure"? A) This also applies to the reinforced corners, recessed handles, etc. The Skydyne case listed above and equivalent have corners sufficient to meet fleet needs Q) Paragraph 2.4 (5) third line notes "Handles shall be recessed" Statement per Skydyne: The size of each of these containers make a recessed handle very difficult. A handles inside a recessed dish will not fit around the frame in the front of the container, and while it will fit on the top of the cover, a handle in this location will make the container unwieldy. The non-recessed handle can be placed below the frame on the base shell. However, this will make the bail of the handle protrude below the bottom of the container. Therefore we would recommend riveting the spring loaded handle onto the edge frame. Please advise if riveting a spring loaded handle onto the edge frame will be acceptable. A) Pressure equalizing valve stem shall be recessed below the outer ring of the pressure equalization assembly (case part number 77218-002 and equivalent series cases meet this requirement) Q) Paragraph 12 Total number of cases shall be minimized and utilized to fullest extent and, Paragraph 13 Notes total weight of case shall not be more than 42 lb. Will a deviation from the 42 lb weight requirement be allowed? Our reason for asking this is that the weight of an empty case, with reinforced corners, is estimated to be 28 lbs. The weight requirement will restrict fully utilizing the space within the cases. Would you consider two handles (one on each side) versus single handle at front?A label stating "Two Man Carry" can be applied. A) Authorize weight requirement to be adjusted to 1 MAN LIFT - to include placement on a shelf 5 feet or below, which authorizes maximum weight of 56 lbs.

The Naval Air Warfare Center - Aircraft Division, Lakehurst (NAWC-AD LKE) anticipates the award of a five (5) year, fixed-price, Indefinite-Delivery / Indefinite Quantity (ID/IQ) contract for the design and delivery of Wire Repair Tool Sets (Delta), part number (P/N) 4214AS0100-1; Wire Repair Tool Sets (Completion), P/N 4215AS0100-1; and technical data packages for both. The maximum quantities over 5 years are (50) Delta Sets and (15) Completion Sets, First Article Units are required and will be the first Order issued against the anticipated ID/IQ contract. These Wire Repair Tool Sets are required for MQ-8C air vehicle wiring system repairs while deployed with or without the MH-60S. These sets will consist of ruggedized transit cases containing wire repair tools that will provide capabilities for MQ-8C repair requirements. These Peculiar Support Equipment (PSE) end items are integral for the full complement of Support Equipment needed for initial outfitting of MQ-8C Squadrons to perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on MQ-8C Aircraft. This procurement will be competed as a 100% Total Small Business Set-Aside.
