The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division Lakehurst, NJ (NAWCADLKE) intends to award a competitive Firm-Fixed price contract for twelve (12) Purchase Cable and Reel Assemblies of Part Number 524631-3 (NSN: 1680-01-622-2665) in support of the Advanced Arresting Gear (AAG) Landing System. The Government intends to procure the above items under the authority of 10 USC 2304 (c) (1), FAR 6.302-1. The limited number of responsible sources listed above are the only companies known that can meet the agency's need for the Purchase Cable and Reel Assemblies in support of the Advanced Arresting Gear (AAG) Landing System.. All responsible sources are encouraged to submit a proposal in writing that may be used by the Government in determining whether or not to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon the response to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD), Lakehurst Contracts Office intends to award a contract for the procurement of a quantity of twelve (12) Purchase Cable and Reel Assemblies, P/N: 524631-3, NSN: 1680-01-622-2665 in support of the Advanced Arresting Gear (AAG) Landing System. This is designated as a Critical Safety Item (CSI) and there are only three companies known to produce this item in association with Technical Data Requirement (TDR) package # 18-19012A. THIS IS NOT AN INVITATION FOR COMPETITVE PROPOSALS. This acquisition is being pursued on a sole source basis under the statutory authority of 10 USC 2304(C)(1), as implemented in FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements.
