FDRMC, Det. Rota Code 130 is requesting to purchase a handheld XRF Analyzer in order to identify various metals, lead containing paint materials and filler materials in-shop and shipboard for welding and Nondestructive Testing (NDT) production operations and perform inspections. TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS Handheld enclosed beam XRF Analyzer. Lightweight, 1.5 kg or less. Able to operate at temperatures from 0 to 50 degrees Celsius and 10% to 90% humidity. Equipped with two (2) cameras: macro camera and micro camera for documenting sample and small area of analysis able to be revealed on a tilting color touchscreen display. Built-in standardization via automatic system checks and a built-in alloy library based on ASTM, AISI, DIN, SAE, and GB standards. Password protected to provide security from unauthorized use and a fail-safe warning light while XRF is emitting radiation. Shielding shall provide sufficient protection so that the radiation levels from the primary beam does not exceed 0.25 mrem/hr (0.0025 mSv/hr) under normal operating conditions. Labeled with a conventional radiation symbol with verbiage that warns the user that x-rays are generated. Battery charger that is able to charge replaceable batteries with 110/220 VAC. Should provide two (2) Li-on batteries. Metal Calibration Software that tests for the following elements: Y, Te, Sb Sn Cd Pd Ag Ru Mo Nb Zr Bi Pb Se Au W Zn Cu Re Ta Hf Ni Co Fe Mn Cr V Ti Al S P Si Mg (33) and includes Calibration Standard Alloy, IARM35, 1.25%Cr, 0.5%Mo and Check Sample, 6061 Al.
