Amendment 0001: The purpose of this amendment it to correct the solicitation number from N6660425P0216 to N6660425Q0216. Due to system constraints, the Notice ID within this posting N6660425P0216 cannot be changed. NUWCDIVNPT intends to purchase, on a Firm Fixed Price (FFP), the evaluation with the option to repair two (2) Two Tube Weapon Simulator (2TWS) Drawers, in accordance with the attached combined solicitation/synopsis and Statement of Work (SOW). This solicitation requests pricing quotation for evaluations under CLINs 0001-0002. After contract award and completion of the evaluations in CLINs 0001-0002, the contractor shall provide quotations for option CLINs 0003-0004 repairs (If repair is possible) This requirement is being solicited on a Sole Source basis to General Dynamic Mission Systems (GDMS) as concurred with by the Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division, Newport (NUWCDIVNPT) Office of Small Business Programs (OSBP). Rational for the decision to proceed with a sole source procurement is as follows: Progeny Systems (now incorporated into GD-MS) is the OEM of this component. As GD and retains the proprietary information to these highly specialized components, they are the only company with the know-how, and experience to repair and properly perform post repair testing. The only alternative to procuring these repair serves through GDSM is procurement of new items from GDSM or an alternative sourse, resulting in duplicative costs and schedule impact, detrimental to mission.
