A determination by the Government not to compete this acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. NUWCDIVNPT intends to award a Firm Fixed Price purchase order on a sole-source basis to HANSOME ENERGY SYSTEMS, INC., 365 Dalziel RD Linden, New Jersey 07036-622 (CAGE 51802). The Capstan Positioning Sensor (G10) Cable Assembly is part of the Electric Capstan System developed and built by Hansome Energy Systems specifically for Virginia Class submarines. This sensor has a unique form, fit, function and capability that allows the Electric Capstan to operate properly. Hansome Energy Systems’ Capstan Positioning Sensor is the only qualified sensor that meets the system’s electrical requirements and no alternate positioning sensors are available that meet the form, fit and function. The circumstances of the contract action deem only one source available. The Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Newport (NUWCDIVNPT) intends to purchase the following on a firm-fixed price basis: CLIN 0001 – Capstan Positioning Sensor G10 (Part #HAN9361 GP 2); Quantity 5 CLIN 0002 (Option 1) - Capstan Positioning Sensor G10 (Part #HAN9361 GP 2); Quantity 2 - 5 CLIN 0003 (Option 2) - Capstan Positioning Sensor G10 (Part #HAN9361 GP 2); Quantity 2 - 3 Delivery Location: F.O.B Destination, Newport, RI 02841-1708 Incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through the current Federal Acquisition Circular.
