Solicitation N66604-20-R-8248: This construction requirement is for HVAC renovation to the Zulu Lab in building 1171. The area of the renovation includes approximately 3400 square feet which includes prototype testing equipment and office spaces. The space will be provided with new HVAC systems, which will provide specialized climate control. The new mechanical system will utilize direct expansion computer room units for cooling the lab spaces and a chilled water air handling unit for the office spaces. The electrical system serving the new mechanical equipment will be upgraded to serve the equipment. The onsite supervision will require one (1) qualified individual serving the roles of superintendent, quality control manager, and site safety and health officer. Contractors do not have to be JCP certified to receive the drawings and specifications but they must have an active CAGE Code. This is a pre-solicitation notice issued pursuant to FAR 5.201. The Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division, Newport (NUWCDIVNPT) intends to award a Firm Fixed Price (FFP) construction contract on a competitive basis using FAR Part 15 Procedures. NUWC Newport, RI has a requirement for HVAC renovations. The area of the renovation includes approximately 3400 square feet. The work includes the removal of existing and provision of HVAC systems, Computer Room Air Conditioning (CRAC) units, chilled water air handling unit, ductwork, insulation, Direct Digital Controls, Testing and Balancing, and incidental related work. The onsite supervision will require one (1) qualified individuals serving the roles of superintendent, quality control manager, and site safety and health officer. Per FAR 36.204 - Disclosure of the magnitude of construction projects, the estimated price is between $500,000 and $1,000,000. Bonds and insurance will be required. This procurement will be solicited as a 100% Small Business Set Aside, as concurred with by the NUWCDIVNPT Office of Small Business Programs (OSBP). The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code for this acquisition is 238220. The Small Business Size Standard is $16,500,000.00.
