This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotations are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This synopsis/solicitation will be open for less than 30 days, in accordance with FAR 5.203(b). Request for Quote (RFQ) number is N66604-20-Q-8256. Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Division Newport (NUWCDIVNPT) intends to purchase fifty-six (56) hours of Naval Simulation System (NSS) software remote Help Desk support and twenty-four (24) hours of on-site services on a Firm Fixed Price, Sole Source basis from Metron, Incorporated. F.O.B. Destination Naval Station Newport, Newport, RI. 02841. The Period of Performance is one year from date of purchase order award. This requirement is being solicited on a sole source basis to Metron as concurred with by the NUWCDIVNPT Office of Small Business Programs (OSBP). The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code for this acquisition is 511210. The Small Business Size Standard is $41.5 million dollars. Metron, Inc. is the only known source for support services related to NSS software licenses. NSS was developed by Metron as a Government Off-the-Shelf (GOTS) product. No other companies develop software for NSS. No other company has the expertise or capability to provide technical support for Metrons software. This notice is not a request for competitive quotes. A determination by the Government not to compete this acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through most recent Federal Acquisition Circular. FAR 52.212-1 Instructions to Offerors-Commercial Items applies.
