The Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Newport, RI (NUWCDIVNPT) intends to award a sole source requirement to Advanced Acoustic Concepts (AAC), Lemont Furnace, PA (CAGE 1VWT7, a large business). The purpose of this requirement is to purchase QTY 109 EACH MK48 Transmitters (TX) and QTY 59 EACH MK48 Warhead Electronic Systems (WES) for the US Navy and Foreign Military Sales (FMS) partners. The Contractor shall also provide engineering services to support the production of the MK48 TX and WES FIRs and related MK48 hardware and test equipment. AAC is the only responsible source with the production expertise and experience to build, assemble and test the WES assemblies and Sonar Transmitters. To qualify an additional source would cause unacceptable delays in fulfilling the Navy’s requirements. A C-type production contract with Firm Fixed Price and Cost Plus Fixed Fee provisions is anticipated. The anticipated period of performance is five years. The proposed contract action is for supplies and services, for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. All responsible sources may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals, quotations or capability statements. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. All responses received by the Government, within fifteen (15) days after date of publication of this synopsis, will be considered by the Agency. A determination by the Government not to compete the requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
