This is a combined synopsis and solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotations are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Request for Quote (RFQ) number is N66604-19-Q-1968. The Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Newport (NUWCDVINPT), Code 40 currently has a requirement to procure lip seals for the USN Fleet that employs Tomahawk All-Up-Rounds (AURs) - particularly the vertically launched, Composite Capsule Launching System (CCLS) variant - as part of its weapon system. In order to load a CCLS AUR onto a USN submarine, it is required that (2) lip seals, (P/N JCM-16664-001), be installed onto the capsule of each CCLS AUR. The lip seal is an integral part of the CCLS capsule. The integrity of the lip seal is important because it maintains a watertight seal at the flange area of the capsule, thereby preventing water from infiltrating into the missile tube and further into the missile itself. Missile tube flooding is detrimental to the employment CCLS AUR; therefore, proper manufacture of the Parker-Hannifin Lip Seal is critical to the performance of the weapon system.
