This synopsis is hereby issued in accordance with FAR 5.201. The purpose of this synopsis is to announce the Department of the Navy, Naval Information Warfare Center Pacific's intent to award a Firm-Fixed-Price purchase order on a noncompetitive basis with SciniTech, Incorporated CAGE: 5P4X4 of 1000 Mount Laurel Cir. Suite 3, Shirley, MA, 01464-2461. The requirement is for Cesium Iodine Scintillation material in support of the Radiation Detection, Indication, and Computation (RADIAC) project. Cesium Iodine is a material with high y-ray stopping power due to its relative high density and atomic number. For scintillation counting, it is used either in its un- doped form or doped with sodium or thallium. CsI is resistant to thermal and mechanical shock. The physical characteristics of CsI are independent of the activator used; CsI id slightly hygroscopic. The Government intends to negotiation solely with SciniTech, Incorporated under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b), Only Capable Source. FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures, applies. The applicable NAICS Code is 334517 and the business size standard is 1,000 employees. Please be advised that the aforementioned information is anticipatory in nature and is not binding. This is not a request for competitive quotes; however, any responsible source believing that it can fulfill the requirements may submit a quote which shall be considered by the agency.
