Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Atlantic intends to award a sole-source contract to AAVID THERMACORE, INC. DIV BO, 5960 Inglewood Dr. Suite 125 Pleasanton, CA 94588 for quantity 40 F17088-100-AB, COOLER, AIR, ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT, MODIFIED heat exchangers. This heat exchanger is an integral part of the government vehicle Block D system, which is currently fielded and also in production for additional future fielding. It has undergone prior testing by the program, per MIL-STD-810, to confirm suitability for this specific application. No other manufacturers produce an item with the required form, fit and function characteristics required for this Block D system. The authority for soliciting from a single source is FAR 13.106(b)(1). The Government anticipates the award of a Firm-Fixed-Price purchase order. The proposed contract action is for supplies and incidental services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with a single source under authority of FAR 13.106-1. Interested firms may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
