Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Atlantic intends to award a sole-source contract to UEC Electronics Inc. 5914 Howard Street, Hanahan, SC 29410 to procure the following components: 1. ASSY HNF BACKPLANE, 0126313-1 P/N: 0626A01-0; QTY: 12 The above components are currently fielded within Integrated Housing Group Crypto ship/shore shelves assemblies to the Advanced Narrowband Digital Voice Terminal (ANDVT). These backplanes require form, fit and function to ensure proper integration on Naval ship/shore platforms and sites. Backplanes were originally manufactured in the early 1970's and are no longer mass-produced by any other known manufacturer. Additional units are required for installation and sustainment of new construction platforms. The authority for soliciting from a single source is FAR 13.106(b)(1). The Government anticipates the award of a Firm-Fixed-Price purchase order. The proposed contract action is for supplies for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with a single source under authority of FAR 13.106-2. Interested firms may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
