The specification identifies the requirements for services involving the manufacture and assembly of quantity six (6) cradle weldments for housing a cylindrical device approximately 9 feet long with a diameter of 18 inches. The cradle weldment is comprised of welding and assembling a variety of cut steel structures, plates, cylinders, springs, hardware and other specialty material such as K-Monel. The cradle’s external envelop size is approximately 11 feet long x 4 feet wide and 3 feet high. This requirement is anticipated to be a five (5) year Firm-Fixed-Price (FFP) IDIQ contract. Therefore, the intent of this sources sought is to not only determine if there are technically capable contractors, but also determine if there would be contractors interested in bidding on this contract type. Please make this clear in your capability statement. THIS SOURCES SOUGHT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL. It is a market research tool being used to determine potential and eligible firms capable of providing the supplies/services described herein prior to determining the method of acquisition. No telephone responses will be accepted. No contractor response received after the advertised due date and time will be accepted.
