The Naval Surface Warfare Center Philadelphia Division (NSWCPD) intends to issue a competitive procurement, utilizing Full & Open procedures to procure Brushless Generators for the LHD Midlife program. It is anticipated that the subsequent award will be issued as a Firm Fixed Price (FFP), Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract type, spanning over a five (5) year Period of Performance (POP). The successful contractor shall provide (an anticipated maximum) quantity of 20 Ship Service Generators to serve as a replacement of an existing generator end of a steam turbine based application as specified in the Mechanical interface specification reference. The Generator shall comply with the ABS NVR as pertaining to MIL-G-3087C and the requirements of this specification. Where there may be a conflict, this specification shall take precedence. The new generator, in conjunction with the existing Steam Turbine, shall be able to provide at least 2500 kW (electrical) at 450 VAC, 60 Hz, 0.8 power factor, when operating continuously as defined in Section 3.1.2 of the subject Solicitation.
