Sources Sought/Request for Information Description: This Sources Sought Synopsis is in support of Market Research being conducted by the United States Navy to identify Hazardous Material (HM) drum vault/cabinet storage for U.S. Navy ships. The U.S. Navy is prototyping the idea of consolidating combustible used HM (used oily rags, used oil filters, etc.) in 55 gal drums. Initial market research lead to the idea of securing and protecting the drums within drum vaults/cabinets. The purpose of this Sources Sought is to issue a Request for Information (RFI) to identify vendors and products which comply with all requirements set forth in this request. Information submitted to the RFI will be reviewed by the Navy and vendors/products found to be compliant with the requirements will be selected for the prototype testing. If the drum vault/cabinet is a successful idea, a National Stock Number (NSN) will be assigned to all qualifying drum vaults/cabinets.
