NSWCPD has established a requirement for twenty-five (25) Condenser Tube Modification Kits for existing HFC-236FA Air Conditioning (AC) Plants on Nimitz Class (CVN-68) Ships. These modification kits are designed for the purpose of increasing the overall cooling capacity of the AC Plant without requiring additional weight, volume, electrical power, and/or periodic maintenance. The modification kit consists of improved heat transfer surfaces in the evaporator and improved heat transfer in the condenser.
