This procurement request is for the sole-source acquisition of a analysis and support for the modification of the CPP System Valve Rod assembly from Rolls Royce Marine North America. The CPP System Valve Rod assembly is the conduit for High Pressure System Fluid to the Hub Assembly to actuate the Hub Piston and control Propeller blade pitch. The Valve Rod tube is supported in the Propulsion Shaft Bore by Guides attached at regular intervals along the Valve Rod tube. The U.S. Navy CPP System designs are the proprietary design of RRMNA, and as such they alone have access to the proprietary intellectual property to provide the necessary Design and Analysis support for prototype Valve Rod Guide tip design, DDAM analysis; and further tip refinement for this effort.
