This requirement is in support of the Naval Foundry and Propeller Center (NFPC) Philadelphia Division. NFPC applies stringent quality assurance methods to measure manufacturing while in process and upon completion using specialized brand equipment from FARO Technologies – CAM2 Software and Laser Trackers with peripheral accessories. These Laser Trackers are essential to the manufacturing process and require replacement. The FARO Laser Trackers currently owned by NFPC are now considered obsolete by the Navy’s MetCal standards and they will no longer accept certification on this equipment. No other manufacturer’s Laser Trackers are capable of interfacing with the CAM2 software; therefore, FARO is the sole source to provide the Laser Trackers with peripheral accessories requirement.
