Weatherproofing Units
Naval Base Ventura County requires weatherproofing for 41 wood-framed modular workspace units currently stored outdoors pending installation, consisting of 30 units at 12 ft x 36 ft and 11 units at 12 ft x 16 ft. The contractor must procure, deliver, and assemble a complete turnkey, heavy-duty, non-chemical weatherproofing system custom-fitted on-site. Coverage must extend from the bottom chassis to the roofline while excluding the bottom 3-foot poly stilts, with individual wrapping as the standard approach and grouped wrapping allowed only where equivalent protection is maintained. The system must withstand coastal UV, salt-spray, and high-wind exposure without unapproved penetrating attachments, and must include surface preparation, precision fitting and sealing, and quality assurance verification. Recurring maintenance inspections are required every 60 to 90 days for 12 months after acceptance to verify continued weather-tightness and identify moisture intrusion or degradation.
