NMCCL has a requirement for a supply IDIQ contract for emergent total hip replacement procedures for the Zimmer Biomet implants utilized for trauma patients. The hip replacement products must provide state of the art replication action of a natural joint, increasing the prognosis of the patient’s hips after a total hip replacement for up-to 13 more years. Delivery time must be able to meet the 24 to 48 hour trauma requirement for a total hip replacement. Hip replacement parts must be compatible with the existing Hemi Hip instrumentation and implants used for partial replacements (Attachment, NOI List Excel Sheet). The Military Training Facility uses Zimmer Biomet parts and implants through Electronic Medical Catalog (ECAT), where they are a mandatory source; however, this requirement encompasses the parts/instruments needed and having the correct parts/instruments on hand for the emergency surgeries that ECAT cannot address. Thus, any implants for emergent total hip replacement must be compatible and equivalent to ensure that one hip implant set used for routine cases are the same brand to be utilized for trauma cases to avoid complications. This requirement consists of the Base Year plus four (4) option periods. The Notice of Intent (NOI) and a list of the parts/instruments (Attachment, NOI List Excel Sheet) are to be enclosed.
