The Naval Air Warfare Center Training Systems Division (NAWCTSD) intends to negotiate, on a sole source basis, a contract for the procurement of custom length and threaded screws (Shoulder Screw), CNC legs (1" OD x 2" Long Feet) and holes milled in metal plates (PS Base). Please see the attached ‘Part List’ for part numbers and quantities. The contract is planned for Sohacki Industries, Inc (Cage Code 78E10), as implemented by Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1, Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The anticipated dollar value is $44,397.91. The required custom parts entail specific SME knowledge and a Nexturn SA32E machine with specifications such as water cooling, RPM rate, and sensors for tolerances no greater than 0.005" on steel alloy. Market research and site visits to machinist shops has shown that Sohacki Industries, Inc is the only vendor with access to the required tool and capable of meeting the specifications. Using other vendors who do not have the SME knowledge and specialized tools to create these customized parts would create a high risk for compatibility. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals. It is a notice outlining the Government’s intent to contract on a sole source basis with Sohacki Industries, Inc. No solicitation document is available. This notice will be posted for at least 15 days prior to any contract action in order to satisfy the requirements under FAR 5.2. Per FAR 5.207(c)(16), all responsible sources may submit a bid, proposal, or quotation which shall be considered by the agency.
