REQUEST FOR INFORMATION FOR HANDHELD PORTABLE THERMAL IMAGING CAMERAS THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) ONLY. This RFI is issued solely for information and planning purposes consistent with FAR Part 10.002(b)(iii). It does not constitute a Request for Quote (RFQ) or a promise to issue an RFQ in the future. This RFI does not commit the Government to contract for any supply or service. Responders are advised that all costs associated with responding to this RFI will be solely at the interested party’s expense. Not responding to this RFI does not preclude participation in any future RFQ, if any is issued. 1.0 Description The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Panama City Division (NSWC.PCD) requests information on existing NFPA 1801 certified and non-certified or mature developmental items to provide handheld portable thermal imaging capabilities from shipboard spaces exposed to thermal increases such as a fire casualty. The thermal imaging camera will normally be in a stowed configuration on the platform, easily located, and operated by the user. Interest exists for commercially available thermal imaging cameras, mature developmental initiatives, component devices, and support capabilities. 2.0 Responses Interested parties are asked to submit capability statements to ian.dangelo@navy.mil no later than 30 days after posting of this RFI. Proprietary information MUST BE CLEARLY MARKED. All submissions become Government property and will not be returned. Submission administrative information should include company name, mailing address, CAGE, phone number, and e-mail of the designated point of contact. The submission technical information should adequately describe the capability provided. 3.0 Questions Questions shall be submitted in writing by e-mail to ian.dangelo@navy.mil 4.0 Summary This RFI will be used to identify potential sources to provide thermal imaging cameras or components for a shipboard firefighting response or other thermal increases. The information provided in the RFI is subject to change and is not binding on the Government or the provided of the information. The Government has not made a commitment to procure any of the items discussed, and release of this RFI should not be construed as a commitment or as authorization to incur cost for which reimbursement would be required or sought. All submissions become Government property and will not be returned.
