SDV HYDROID TRANSDUCERS The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Panama City Division, (NSWC PCD), Panama City, FL intends to award a firm-fixed price purchase order to the following vendor: HII Unmanned Systems Mission Technologies Division 1 Henry Drive Pocasset, MA 02559 Cage: 4Z5A9 Procurement is for SDV MK8 and MK11 hydroid transponders in support of the Seal Delivery Vehicle (SDV) program, as follows: Part Number Description Quantity 161907-2 ASSY; TRANSPONDER; CSS-LV; ALUMINUM; NSWC; ID2; M-304 TEST AND POST CURE 16 EA DATA SHEET FOR EACH TRANSPONDER N/A FREIGHT (INCLUDES WRAPPING; BOXING; AND LABELING EACH TRANSPONDER) 1 EA The Naval Surface Warfare Center Panama City Division (NSWC PCD) has a requirement to procure hydroid transponders for the SDV MK8 and MK11. This requirement is not suitable for full and open competition for the following reason(s): HII Unmanned Systems is the OEM and the only approved source of supply for the items listed above per the approved engineering drawing. The purchase of a different brand of transponder would necessitate approximately 6 months or more of work to ensure compatibility of the alternate transponder with the SDV system. Additionally, further work would be required to approve it for use with the SDV system. The additional time and expense generated by these efforts would result in unacceptable risk to the project timeline and additional cost to the Government. As such, the government does not expect significant savings through competition and it is more advantageous to the Government to award on a sole source basis to HII Unmanned Systems for the items listed in above.
