TORMACH CNC MILLING MACHINE AND LATHE The Naval Surface Warfare Center Panama City Division, FL (NSWC PCD) intends to award a firm fixed price brand name purchase order using simplified acquisition procedures to authorized sellers and installers of the Tormach brand CNC Milling machine and Lathe. This procurement is brand name for the following reason: The Engineers and Technicians who make up the project team are trained and knowledgeable on the Tormach proprietary software. As such, by purchasing Tormach, there will be no additional training required and no “learning curve”, thus saving the Government money and reducing the risk of not being able to sufficiently support the warfighter. If another brand were chosen, the EA team would have to undergo training on the CNC & Lathe software, which would result in additional cost to the Government and unacceptable project delay.
