The Naval Surface Warfare Center Panama City Division, FL (NSWC PCD) intends to award a sole source, firm fixed price purchase order using simplified acquisition procedures to Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI), 266 Woods Hole Road, MS18, Woods Hole, MA 02543 the WHOI Micromodem 2, battery modules, and supporting peripherals. This procurement is sole source for the following reason: Med-Eng is the OEM of the equipment required. The requesting project currently uses this type of micromodem. Only WHOI Micromodem 2 hardware can communicate with each other. No other COTS (Commercial Off-the-Shelf) acoustic modem hardware will be able to communicate directly to the MGB.
