The Naval Surface Warfare Center Panama City Division, FL (NSWC PCD) intends to award a sole source, firm fixed price purchase order using simplified acquisition procedures to Teledyne Marine for the procurement of cables. This award is sole source for the following reason: the underwater cables in this procurement is a critical part of existing systems that connects exterior ship components to interior ship components. The cable is a modified version of a legacy cable that has been used in the fleet for over 20 years. It has been upgraded numerous times to overcome various reliability issues and Teledyne Marine has the experience and ability to incorporate these upgrades. If another vendor were to be selected, the vendor would be required to become familiar with the project requirements and have to develop the necessary cables. The items shall be delivered NLT 30 weeks after receipt of order.
