Southwest Regional Maintenance Center (SWRMC) Code 410B Procurement intends to award a Sole Source contract to Wartsila Defense, Inc., to provide direct replacement parts and components for Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) class ship’s waterjet assemblies, which are highly specialized and part of a major ship’s system. The requirement will be processed in accordance with FAR part 15. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 336611 and the business size standard is 1,250 employees. Wartsila Defense, Inc. is the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) for the LCS class ship’s waterjet assemblies. The materials being procured are to support the LCS class ship’s waterjet assemblies; therefore, it is crucial that the OEM provide the materials to ensure parts and equipment compatibility and the system works as designed and at full capacity. In addition, the replacement parts must be compatible in all aspects to form, fit, and function with the existing equipment. Wartsila Defense, Inc. has no authorized distributors and as is the only known source available to acquire the required parts. This notice is neither a request nor a solicitation of offers; however, all information received within 15 days after date of publication of this synopsis will be reviewed by the Government for future considerations. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether conducting a competitive procurement in the future is in the best interest of the Government. Responses must provide clean and concise documentation indicating a vendor's bona fide capability to provide this product or equivalency. Southwest Regional Maintenance Center (SWRMC) is conducting market research to determine industry’s capability to provide original equipment manufacturer (OEM) materials for a LCS class ship’s waterjet assemblies. See Product Description List, (Enclosure (1)). The contractor shall furnish ALL materials required in the Product Description List. SWRMC is especially interested in determining small business capability and interest. SWRMC is contemplating award of a firm fixed price contract for the requirement specified in the attached Product Description List. The applicable NAICS code is 336611 Ship Building and Repairing.
